Underpinning
When a footing has settled, often because water has washed the sand or soil out from under it, we underpin it. We dig out under the existing footing in short sections and pour new concrete down to firm ground. Once the footing is stable, the cracks above can be stitched and made good. At the ANZ Bank in Beverley we used underpinning, Helifix crack stitching and beaming to stop severe cracking caused by water washing out the foundations.
Bowing and leaning walls
Gable walls, parapets and boundary walls can bow away from the structure when ties fail or the wall was never properly connected. We use Helifix restraint ties to reconnect the wall to the roof, floor or adjoining walls, so it can't move any further.
Heritage and commercial structural work
For The Depot by Psaros, the original facade of a building over 100 years old had to be kept and made safe. We secured it to the new apartments with Helifix reinforcements, formed new door openings in the facade, and reinstated the brickwork and coping stones. We supply full health and safety documentation for every commercial project.
